Misr El-Maqassa interested in signing Shikabala

Misr El-Maqassa’s board member Amr Moustafa said that his club just like any other club in the world, would love to sign Zamalek’s winger ‘’.

Moustafa’s comments came after news started circulating in the recent hours about negotiations between Zamalek and Misr El-Maqassa for an exchange deal between the two clubs, which included Shikabala from Zamalek , Mahmoud ‘Donga’ and Amr Barakat from El-Maqassa.

“Any club in the world wishes to have Shikabala on their side and we’re one of those clubs, but If the board decided to take such a decision to go in negotiations with the player, it will be after talking with the coaching staff first,” Moustafa explained to Mega FM radio station.

El-Maqassa’s board member said that it is possible to have an exchange deal with The White Knights similar to what happened with Ahmed El-Sheikh who joined . “Ahmed El-Sheikh was one of our important players and we sold him to in an exchange deal and got another player from them. No problem doing that again with Zamalek,” he added.

When asked whether Amr Barakat showed any interest in joining one of ’s two poles, Moustafa assured that every player in wants to join Al Ahly or Zamalek. “No player in will say no to an offer from Al Ahly or Zamalek. There are a few clubs that are interested in our players, but we won’t talk about any of this until our situation in the league and the African Champions League is clear.

On the other side, Shikabala’s agent, Samir Abdel-Tawab, replied the recent news saying that the 30-years-old player is committed to a 5-years contract with Zamalek that started this season. “This is the first time I get such news, no one even spoke with me about this,” Abdel-Tawab answered.

“People talk about Shikabala’s departure when he doesn’t participate in a game, but when he participates in another and scores they consider him one of the team’s stars.

Abdel-Tawab even assured that Zamalek’s new coach Alex McLeish knows Shikabala well and wanted to sign the player when he was Birmingham’s coach in 2011.
