Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, to an Egyptian father and an Ukrainian mother, Yasin Hamid (Ukrainian: Ясин Сулейманович Хамід) is a striker who plays for Ukrainian First League side, FC Stal Alchevsk, on loan from the reserve team of Metalurg Donetsk. Hamid is a product of the youth team system of his hometown club, FC Kharkiv. He earned his move to FC Metalurg Donetsk in 2009, where he spent 6 years playing for their Reserves and U-21 side before going on loan to Stal Alchevsk. Yasin made his debut for FC Stal entering as a second-half substitute against FC Zirka Kirovohrad on July 26th, 2014 in the Ukrainian First League.
According to the widely-known football statistic website Transfermarkt, Yasin’s market value is estimated to be 50,000 Euros (400,000 EGP), which should steadily increase as the player keeps on improving.
Thus far, Yasin has chosen to defend the colors of the Ukrainian national youth teams, having played 25 matches and scored on 6 occasions with the U-16, U-17 and U-20 teams. Hamid is expected to eventually play for the senior team of Ukraine, based on remarks from both Hamid and his mother, as he doesn’t know his family in Egypt and his dad moved to Sudan following his parents’ divorce. The player was a strong candidate to be called-up by the Egyptian U-20 national team back in 2012 under Rabie Yassin, but the Football Federation of Ukraine at the time stated that the player belonged to Ukraine and held no “pertinence” to any other nations.
