Hector Cuper announces 25-man squad for Tanzania encounter

Hector Cuper has announced his 25-man squad for the final qualifier against on the 4th of June.

Preparations are currently underway for the final qualifying match away to Tanzania. If manage to avoid a 4-0 defeat, they will officially seal their qualification to the continental showdown in Gabon next January.

The match is doubly important due to the fact that the final spot in African qualification Pot 1 is up for grabs, with just behind Egypt in the African FIFA rankings.

The two North African rivals are battling for fifth spot in the African rankings – and subsequent seeding into Pot 1 – to guarantee a favorable draw for the final 2018 World Cup CAF qualifying groups.

Hossam Ghaly was excluded by Argentine manager Hector Cuper, as had been suspected.

Egypt Squad:

Goalkeepers: Ahmed El-Shennawy, Essam El-Hadary, Sherif Ekramy

Defenders: Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Hegazy, Ali Gabr, Ayman Ashraf, Hamada Tolba, Hazem Emam, Karim Hafez, Mohamed Abdel-Shafy, Rami Rabia, Sabry Rahil

Midfielders: Abdallah El-Said, Amr Warda, Hossam Ashour, Mahmoud Hassan ‘Trezeguet’, Mohamed Elneny, Mohamed Ibrahim, Momen Zakaria, Tarek Hamed

    Seriously, what is Cuper’s problem with Ali Ghazal? He captains a good team in the Portuguese league, attracts interest from many European clubs and rarely makes any mistakes. And still he’s not good enough for the national team?

    Pay attention.Ali Ghazal has been injured lately.I don’t know if he’s recovered yet.

    Not a bad selection. Would’ve liked to see Omar Gaber there. Although he hasn’t been getting much action since transferring to Basel, our options on RB seem scarce. On the other hand we have 4 left backs (assuming Ayman Ashraf is LB, I’m not to familiar with him). A bit too many IMO. Haven’t had that problem in quite some time, lol
